Review of Torres Black Truffle Potato Chips
Best truffle chips ever! Just saying. I have been way into truffles for years, so I’m pleased they’re in vogue now and can be found more ubiquitously.
These can be bought from Jeff Bezos of course (throw up in my mouth) but try to find them at local cheese or specialty store, or Italian deli, here’s one shop, I buy them from on the regular.

That being said NOT all truffle products are created equal. Luckily, I’m a connoisseur of almost all things truffle and I’m here to protect you from inferior products.
Don’t trust most truffle oils, they have a flake or two with cheap olive oil and almost no flavor. If you’re going to buy one Black truffle is cheaper and less potent than white truffle.
I do however suggest trying this brand out of Brooklyn, The Truffleist, they’re legit.
NEVER buy a truffle salt. No explanation needed, it’s bullshit. I have some love for truffle ketchup (Thanks Trader Joes) truffle cheese gets a pass too.
In general, almost all things “Truffled” are a scam these days. Do your own research, listen to me or don’t waste your money.
Speaking of a scam DON’T waste your money on Trader Joes Truffle dip – so bland and boring and expensive. Just because it’s unavailable, doesn’t mean it’s good. More people bought into the marketing and didn’t read this review.
Also, don’t trust any restaurant that claims they now offer truffle guacamole – it’s a lie! It’s all just guacamole. I’ve learned the hard way I don’t want you to have to, too. For shame Rebecca.
I have one more real recommendation besides the chips and the Truffliest and that is “Truff.” The truffle hot sauce. Now I had very low expectations for sure, but it turned out to be super amazing.
It’s mild and sweet for hot sauce and the truffle flavor comes through, amazingly. DO NOT buy it online or at Gelson’s it’s really overpriced.
I get mine exclusively from Cost Plus World Market or mom and pop Asian grocery stores I find I my travels. I’m talking $9.99 vs $19.99. Good luck and happy truffle hunting – plus buy the chips! Love and snarky honesty all day!
